Face to face, a figurative show looking deep into the collective soul – includes a total of 14 artists, 9 from New York and 5 from Berlin, who examine the topic Face to Face.
Long-standing exhibition alternates between America and Berlin
For the ninth time, artists from Berlin and New York exhibit their works. On display are paintings, sculptures, drawings, installations, collages and experimental works. The venue changes annually between Berlin and New York. This year the exhibit is at the Berlin gallery Anna25.
The expert jury
An expert jury on both sides selected works of art with exciting results. This year’s jurors include, from New York, Carla Goldberg, former Skylight Gallery director, artist, and independent curator, and Vida Sabbaghi, founder of COPE NYC, designer, and curator. From Berlin, the jurors are Anna25 gallery owner Anna Franek, and Romy Campe, artist, and co-founder of Kunstleben Berlin.
New York meets Berlin: partnership, exchange, and mutual support
The project “New York meets Berlin” was originally initiated by Kunstleben Berlin and Skylight Gallery NYC. Since then, the project has evolved. New to the program are plans for Artists in Residence on both continents. Our common goal is to connect the art capitals of Berlin and New York. We want to be a platform for artists who venture into the international art scene and present their art to an open-minded audience.
The following artists are participating:
The artists from New York include Donald Alter, Carla Goldberg, Yutien Chang, Richard Cutrona, Sascha Mallon, Jamie Martinez, Russell Ritell, Christopher Staples, and Lisa Zukowski. Artists from Berlin are Thomas Nitz, Pham Thai Ho, MASCH, Romy Campe, and Olaf Schirm.
