Art and technology, man and machine. Artists have always dealt with the tension between human and artificial. Regardless of whether the first locomotives, steam engines or cars: new machines found their way into the picture worlds of the creatives. But the art itself also influenced the art: since the beginnings of the photographic instruments artists have made use of the new technology. Today, there are almost unlimited possibilities of the digital which offer the media designers, artists and photographers new ways to express themselves artistically.
Since 2011, Ferdinand Vogel has been dealing exclusively with digital media. Coming from traditional art, he uses the possibilities of digital media for his expressive and fragmented works. Coming from traditional art, he uses the possibilities of digital media for his expressive and fragmented works. Light, color and structures are changed by digital methods.
Günter Schmid has devoted himself to the urban with his camera. The photographs show the strict symmetry, the constant repetitions of the patterns in urban space. Strict composition and playful details: Schmid shows the entire scope of the urban in his pictures.
Aaron Vidal makes a journey through time into the 1960s: it is the time of consumption, advertising decorate the streets, cars are the statutory symbol number 1.The prevailing motifs are cars from the 50s and 60s, stars, starlets and celebrities like the Kennedys. They represent the spirit of the times and the upswing that shaped this epoch.
