It is my pleasure to invite you for the opening of Anna 25 Gallery in Berlin (Schönleinstr.25). The opening will be inaugurated with 25-hours-long vernissage starting on 30 November at 9 a.m.
The works of Thai Ho Pham, Martyna Bielicka and Tom Kristen will be presented.
Thai Ho Pham presents other works from his series “Cycle of Banality” in which daily routines are shown as art. The artist depicts in his paintings everyday activities such as drinking coffee, spending time in a park, windows shopping. Inspired by the state-of-the-art techniques the artist reworks his prints and paintings using the new media and creates a new perception of reality.
Polish artist Martyna Bielicka presents her works from the series “Postmodern City of the Woman”. Her graphics are inspired by the works of French writer Christine de Pizan who lived in the 15th century. The author was the first acclaimed female writer whose book „Le Livre de la Cité des Dames“ (“The Book of the City of Ladies”) is believed to be the pioneer feministic work in the history of literature. Bielicka’s graphics created with self-developed technique are a tribute to the writer and her works.
The main issue of Tom Kristen’s painting is a question about the meaning of symbols. The Bavarian artist creates in his works his own world based on real experiences. Viewers may not be aware of this, yet they are able to interpret the paintings in their own way. His characteristic figures are placed in a fairytale-like surrounding and this combination raises a question about presence and meaning of those figures and things in the world.
